Hunting
ZaZoe owns a 1,300 hectares private game ranch where rifle as well as bow hunters are welcome. All hunting
safaris are conducted by professional hunters (PH's) and organised by a licensed outfitter. Hunting safaris at
other hunting farms / consessions can be arranged. Slaughtering facilities and cold room on premises. Possibility
to process meat according to your wishes nearby.

Duration of safari
Our hunting safaris are exclusively and specially composed according to your desires and wishes. By only taking
one group at a time, your stay will be kept individual and private. Licensed PH's and trackers will ensure a
successful hunt. It often happens that hunters try to do too much in too short period of time. So once we know
which animals you want to hunt, we suggest how much time you would need for an interesting safari. We
recommend that you spend roughly one week in each hunting area to obtain a full bag. Our average South African
safari is 7 to 18 days. All our safaris are carefully planned to meet the exact requirements of each individual client
and are normally booked at least a year in advance. There is no specific hunting season but April to October is
the best time in South Africa. We plan our safari specifically according to your trophy selection.

Hunting licences and export of trophies
Hunting licences are obtained for you and are included in the trophy fee. We do not have any hidden charges.
Some species requires a CITES import and export permit. We will assist you with these once your safari is
confirmed.

Travel information and firearms
In addition to a valid passport, South Africa requires an entry visa (for max. 3 months) which you receive at the
airport. ZaZoe's lodge is based near Swartwater which is a malaria free region. Please check your doctor / medical
clinic in order to make sure no health risks are known or vaccinations needed for South Africa / Limpopo area.

You will automatically be issued with a temporary import/ export permit for your firearms at your port of entry to
South Africa. To make the paperwork easier at Johannesburg airport you need a letter of invitation from the
outfitter and you can download a temporary permit application from the website of South African Police Services
(see 'links'). Completing this form before arrival in South Africa will make things smoother at your port of entry.
Make sure you use a black pen for the official application forms! With pleasure we help you with these forms.

We will supply the letter of invitation for you. There are no restrictions on ammunition. Unless you will be hunting
one of the Big 5, we recommend any calibre in the .270- .300 range. A good variable scope is essential.
Transportation is a hunting car, but in some instances we will suggest a private charter to save precious time.
Major centres offer several scheduled flights per day.
